Rebecca N. Shumake, 21, Kennewick, was charged July 16 with violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act and with reckless driving. Shumake is accused of unlawfully possessing marijuana with the intent to deliver it, and operating a vehicle in a willful or wanton disregard for the safety of people or property on July 14.
Bernardo Fernandez, 18, 710 N. Ninth Ave., was charged July 16 with possession of a stolen firearm, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, and minor in possession/minor in consumption of liquor. Fernandez is accused of knowingly possessing a stolen pistol, unlawfully possessing the pistol, and knowingly possessing or consuming or otherwise acquiring liquor while younger than 21 years of age on July 14.
Christian J. Ramos, 19, 930 W. Birch St., was charged July 16 with residential burglary - domestic violence, third-degree theft - domestic violence, and fourth-degree assault - domestic violence. Ramos is accused of unlawfully entering or remaining in a dwelling with the intent to commit a crime, wrongfully obtaining or exerting unauthorized control over a cell phone, and assaulting a person on July 15.
Luis Ernesto Fuentes-Parada, 25, Hermiston, was charged July 17 with two counts of forgery. Fuentes-Parada is accused of falsely making, completing, altering, possessing, uttering, offering, disposing of or putting off as true two forged checks on July 5.
Tonya M. Boffing, 21, 1317 S. Main St., Milton-Freewater, was charged July 18 with accomplice to residential burglary, violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act, second-degree possessing stolen property, and accomplice to second-degree theft. Boffing is accused of being an accomplice to unlawfully entering or remaining in a dwelling with the intent to commit a crime on March 6; unlawfully possessing methamphetamine between March 6 and 7; knowingly receiving, possessing, retaining, concealing or disposing of a stolen credit card between March 6 and 7; and being an accomplice to wrongfully obtaining or exerting unauthorized control over miscellaneous property on March 6.
Irvin A. Rodriguez, 20, 19 S. Roosevelt St., Apt. J, was charged July 19 with second-degree theft. Rodriguez is accused of wrongfully obtaining or exerting unauthorized control over $1,200 in merchandise belonging to Kmart between July 1 and 18.
Holly J. Robertson, 14, 440 N.E. C St., College Place, was sentenced July 13 on one count each second-degree burglary and second-degree complicity to malicious mischief. The sentence included 60 days in the Juvenile Justice Center, credit for 52 days served, 12 months community supervision, 30 hours community service, $100 to crime victims compensation fund, $110 in court costs, restitution of $4,610.81 shared with two other defendants. On July 13 Robertson pleaded guilty to aiding another in committing second-degree malicious mischief by breaking a window, knowing it would facilitate the commission of a crime and to with intent to commit a crime, remained unlawfully in a building on March 9.
Moises Castillo, 15, 215 S.E. Third St., No. 103, College Place, was sentenced July 13 on one count second-degree driving while license suspended or revoked. The sentence included 10 days in the Juvenile Justice Center, credit for two days served, nine months community supervision, 20 hours community service, $100 to crime victims compensation fund, $110 in court costs. On June 29 Castillo pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle while his privilege to drive was suspended or revoked on March 28.
Johnny Pacheco, 15, 315 N. Park St. was sentenced July 13 on one count minor in possession and or consuming liquor. The sentence included 30 days in the Juvenile Justice Center, 12 months community supervision, 25 hours community service, $100 to crime victims compensation fund, $110 in court costs. On June 29 Pacheco pleaded guilty to consuming alcohol while under age 21 on April 5.
Christopher Peters, 18, 733 Carrie Ave., was sentenced July 13 on one count second-degree rape of a child. The sentence included 106 days in the Juvenile Justice Center, credit for 106 days served, 30 hours community service, $100 to crime victims compensation fund, 15-36 weeks in a DSHS facility suspended, sex offender treatment, $110 in court costs, restitution to be determined. On July 14 Peters pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual intercourse with and was at least 36 month older than a girl who was at least 12 years of age but less than 14 years of age and to whom he was not married to or in a state registered domestic partnership, on March 11.
Ricardo Chavez, 17, 247 W. Chestnut St. was sentenced July 13 on one count each fourth-degree assault, unlawful display of a weapon and first-degree malicious mischief. The sentence included 60 days in the Juvenile Justice Center, credit for 46 days served, 12 months community supervision, 40 hours community service, $100 to crime victims compensation fund, $110 in court costs, $8,534.42 restitution. On June 29 Chavez pleaded guilty to under circumstances not amounting to assault in the first-, second-, third-degree or custodial assault did assault another human being on Jan. 2; did display a weapon capable of producing bodily harm in a manner that intimidated another or that warranted alarm for the safety of another on Dec. 10; and knowingly and maliciously caused physical damage in excess of $5,000 by breaking windows on several vehicles on May 15.
