LETTERS TO THE EDITOR - Wernette committed to a safer community

I ask for your vote to allow me the privilege to serve as your Superior Court judge. The increasing armed street violence in our community has all of us concerned.

I am committed to exercising the lawful and impartial authority of the court to keep our community safe. I have a proven record in doing so as a Municipal Court judge for nine years and a District Court judge pro tem for 21 years.

I have also had the honor to serve as a Superior Court commissioner for seven years. I have as an attorney tried in excess of 100 jury trials. I have a broad and diverse legal and judicial background.

My law practice for 26 years includes an emphasis in family and criminal law, but also includes business, wills, probate, personal injury and more.

As the election of Aug. 7 draws near, I wish to express my appreciation to all those who have supported me.

I appreciate the hundreds of residents who have taken time to speak to me about their concerns and to listen to my message of a safer community. I am proud to have strong support in the law enforcement community.

I appreciate the work they do every day to keep us safe. Most of all, I appreciate my wife Debbie and my three children, Wendi, Cara and Weston and my son-in- law Nat for their love, support and encouragement. I am grateful to God for all the blessings I enjoy.

I have served our community as a judge, attorney and civic volunteer. I believe in my heart that I have the judicial experience, the right legal expertise, integrity, temperament and common sense judgment to admirably serve as your Superior Court judge. I ask for that privilege.
