What's Going Up?: June 2012

What: A new branch of HAPO Community Credit Union at 2376 Taumarson Road, near Highway 125.

Timeline: Construction began in early spring and it's projected to be completed by mid-June, said Steve Anderson, executive vice president and chief operating officer of HAPO Community Credit Union. The Richland-based company currently has 11 branches in Southeast Washington and one Oregon branch, in Hermiston.

Details: Anderson estimated the new branch will be about 4,000-square-feet.

"We've been looking for property in the area for over three years," he said

"Member demand drives us with building and locations. We'll have approximately 10 people working at this branch."

Permitted cost: $2.2 million

Contractor: "The general contractor is a company called 'Momentum' out of Seattle. They build all of our branches, the subs are local," Anderson said.
