Harold L. Williams
January 30, 1923 - May 25, 2012

Harold L. Williams of College Place passed away at home surrounded by his family on May 25, 2012. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Southwest 6th Street and Grandview Avenue, College Place. Chaplain Steve Cromwell will officiate.

Harold was born January 30, 1923, in Blytheville, Arkansas, to James Herbert and Hazel Beatrice (Chism) Williams. The eldest of nine children, he grew up in Puxico, Missouri. He enlisted in the US Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II. While stationed in California, he met his wife, Dorothy Rasley, and they were married in 1951. After 20 years of service, he retired from the US Navy. He then went to work for the US Army Corps of Engineers in Hammond, Oregon, retiring after ten years. In 1977, Harold and Dorothy moved to College Place where they have made their home for the last 35 years.

Harold is survived by his wife, Dorothy, at home; their children: Steve (JoAnn) Williams, Mark Williams, Marie Randall, Sue (Bob) Pfaendler, Paul (Darlene) Williams, Doreen McCulloch, David (Joann) Williams; brothers: Jackie (Joyce) Williams and Donald (Betty) Williams; sisters: Reba Williams and Shirlene Walls; sisters-in-law: Jeannette Williams and Dolinda Williams; grandchildren: Wendi, Kari, Keli (Peter), Casey, Alexandria (Ronnie), Lisa (Kurt), Todd, Stephanie, Stanton, Ryan, Brittany, Megan, Christopher, and Lauren; great-grandchildren: Rebecca, Kylie, Taylor, Ian, Bowen, Landen, and Ayla; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: brothers: Leon, Jerry and Ronald; sister, Bonnie; sister-in-law, Irna; son-in- law, Richard Randall; and great-grandchildren, Ashton and Aidan.
