BOISE, Idaho - The Walla Walla Sweets Roller Girls evened their season record at 1-1 here on Saturday with a 206-101 victory over the Treasure Valley Roller Girls.
The Walla Wallans built a 91-56 halftime lead and continued to pull away in the second half.
Blonde Bandita scored 14 points in the second jam to get the Sweets started on the right skate. Roc n Decker had scored three points on the first jam and Disaster Dahlia scored nine in the third.
Meanwhile, blockers Hawaii TKO, Luz Cannon, Nemesis, Lois Slay'n, Spider Monkey, Grenade-O-Rator and Chica Chica Boom held the Treasure Valley jammers scoreless.
The home team finally got on the board in the fourth jam but the Sweets answered back as Disaster Dahlia put up a 15-point power jam.
The Sweets continued to build their lead, scoring in every second-half jam and holding Treasure Valley without a point in the first three jams.
"Our jammers were awesome, but our blockers were on fire," Sweets coach KrQQL-Aid said. "They built solid walls and nothing was getting through.
"The jammers get all the glory, but it's the blockers who control the game. And our pivots - Nik Yo Face, Coco Crusher and Reckless Abandon - were in control."
The Sweets' next home match is scheduled Aug. 18 against the Snake Pit Derby Dames of Coeur d'Alene at the Walla Walla YMCA gym.
