COLLEGE PLACE - Karen Flemmer, 53, passed to her rest June 10, 2012, at Regency at The Park, 420 SE Myra Road.
She was born July 28, 1958, in Jamestown, N.D., to Fred C. and Leah "Lily" (Graf) Flemmer. She graduated from a special education course in Iowa.
In 1987 the family moved from the city of Nevada, Iowa, to College Place, where she was employed at Blue Mountain Industries. Karen did needlepoint, enjoyed bowling and looking at photos of family and friends, as well as photos of the farm since she loved animals. She always had big hugs for everyone and enjoyed giving gifts to others.

Karen was a member of the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She is survived by five sisters: Hilda (Warner) McClure, Elsie Flemmer, Lorraine (Rob) Ferguson, Gladys (Steve) Barnes and Sharon Welch; three brothers, Clarence (Bernice) Flemmer, Elmer (Fran) Flemmer and Harry (Voni) Flemmer; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, June 18, 2012, at Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at the funeral home. Pastors Steve Walikonis, Ed Gienger and Mark Etchell will officiate. Burial will follow on Tuesday at Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Mountain Industries or Gospel Outreach through the funeral home.
