Longtime area resident Jane Perry, 90, passed to her rest June 17, 2012, at Park Manor Rehabilitation Center, 1710 Plaza Way, Walla Walla.
Jane was born May 20, 1922, in Springfield, Ore., to Frank and Minnie H. Ingram Apger. She attended high school in Planeview, Ore. On March 6, 1938, she and William F. "Bill" Perry married in Lebanon, Ore. They moved to this area in 1960 from Lebanon. She received her licensed practical nursing degree from Walla Walla Community College. She and her husband owned Bill Perry's Texaco in College Place, where she assisted with the accounting and book work. Following their retirement, they worked on many school and church building projects through Maranatha International and traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Newfoundland and Alaska. She was a member of the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Jane is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Perry; her daughters, Rita (Don) Zeigner of Walla Walla and Shirley Schmale of Coeur d'Alene; her son, Dale (Heather) Perry of Walla Walla; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
The graveside service will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Southwest Sixth St. and Grandview Avenue in College Place. Memorial contributions may be made to Maranatha International through Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
