Longtime Dixie resident, Noel Ivan Bray, Jr., 83, passed away June 14, 2012, at Regency at the Park, 420 S.E. Myra Road, College Place.
Noel was born July 26, 1928, in Baxter Springs, Kan., to Noel Ivan Sr. and Myrtle Ellen Holden Bray. On April 27, 1946, he and Helen "Tiny" Bray married in Joplin, Mo. He worked as a welder and mechanic, retiring in 1991.
He loved hunting, fishing, camping and all outdoor activities. His family and friends were of utmost importance to him and he was always willing to help anyone in need. Noel moved to this area 47 years ago from Fontana, Calif. Noel was volunteer fireman and a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Walla Walla. He was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by two sons, Raymond L. Bray of Walla Walla and Kenneth L. Bray of LaGrande, Ore.; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, three sisters and two brothers.
The memorial service will be 11 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2012 at Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla. Elders Lon Olson and Al Worthington of Community of Christ will officiate.
Following the memorial service, there will be a potluck luncheon at the home of his son, Raymond Bray.
