WALLA WALLA - Providence St. Mary Medical Center will hold conduct tours of its new intensive care unit 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday on Level 4 of the hospital.
Current and new patients will be moved to the new, $10-million unit Monday.
The unit incorporates the latest in technology and architectural design, Providence said in a release.
Among other features, the ICU has:
- Fourteen beds, each private, six more than the previous unit.
- Rooms that are each 287 square feet, 115 square feet larger than the previous rooms.
- The ability to perform dialysis in every room.
- Lifts in rooms help move patients up to 550 pounds, with two lifts for patients up to 1,000 pounds.
