WALLA WALLA -- Little Theatre of Walla Walla, 1130 E. Sumach St., will hold auditions there for the musical-comedy Western play "Shakespeare Comes to Calamity Creek " at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.
Written by Tim Kelly, with music and lyrics by Bill Francoeu, it will be directed by Robert G. Randall, produced by Cheryl Sutlick and Nato Shiu will direct the music.
There are 30 or more parts for men and women, some as singing and dancing roles.
The play will run Aug. 10-19.
In the story, a troupe of actors arrives in a small mining town, there to bring Shakespeare to local culture.
That's mixed together with a conceited actor, lovely actress, Texas Ranger, wealthy woman with a past and notorious crook with would-be outlaws, gold miners and stranded dancers.
