LOWDEN - A 60-year-old Pasco man died Saturday after he lost control of his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and collided with two oncoming pickup trucks.

Galen T. Heib was traveling east at about 1:30 p.m. when a gust of wind forced his 2010 motorcycle to cross into oncoming traffic, according to a Washington State Patrol report. Heib collided with a Honda Ridgeline truck and was thrown from the bike. A second truck struck Heib in the westbound lane.

The crash forced the brief closure of U.S. Highway 12.

Heib was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. No other injuries were reported.
