Touchet School Board

Members of the Touchet School Board are Jody Kromm, Robert Schaeffer, Mandy Thompson, Michael McCubbins and Darren Goble. With McCubbins and Goble absent Thursday, the board:

Deferred Compensation: Approved a resolution implementing new deferred compensation program. Unanimous.

Contracts: Approved exempt staff contracts. Unanimous.

Resignations: Accepted resignations of cheer advisor Sandy Goble and athletic director Jim Greene. Unanimous.

Grant Applications: Authorized grant applications for 2012/13 school year. Unanimous.

Bond Council: Accepted bond council engagement letter from Foster Pepper; Jim McNeil, Bond Council. Unanimous.

Food Service Prices: Approved increased lunch price ($0.25) and increased milk price ($0.05) for 2012/13 school year. Unanimous.

Surplus Sale: Approved surplus sale inventory list. Unanimous. Surplus sale will be held August 14 on the school tennis courts.

Achievement: Acknowledged board chair Robert Schaeffer for his receipt of annual WASA award for community service.

Executive Session: The board held an executive session to discuss contract negotiations.

Columbia County Hospital Board

Members of the Columbia County Public Hospital District board are Ted Paterson, Lisa Naylor, Jack Otterson, Jim Kime and Colleen Sproul. With Paterson and Sproul absent Thursday, the board:

Nursing Home Software: Heard a report on the implementation of new "care tracker" software at Booker Rest Home.

ER Construction: Heard a report on progress of expansion of Emergency Room facility. Move-in is scheduled for July 23.

CEO Search: Heard a report from selection committee on search for new CEO. Seven candidates have been selected for phone interviews. Recommendation of three finalists will be presented at July 24 meeting. Site visits by finalists are planned for August.

Executive session: The board entered executive session to discuss employee issue.

Starbuck School Board

Starbuck School Board members are Zonia Dedloff, Carol Wildman, Jill Wood, Kelly White and Leo Janes. With Dedloff absent Thursday, the board:

Staffing: Confirmed Chelsey Smith as full-time primary teacher. Unanimous.

New Principal: Approved recommendation from selection committee to hire Laura Christain as new half-time principal/half-time teacher. Unanimous.

Budget Hearing: Announced that budget hearing for 2012/13 school year will be held July 26 at 5 p.m.
