July 15, 1950 - Feb. 27, 2012
Enrique "Leeke" Gonzalez-Guerrero passed away on Feb. 27, 2012, in Milton Freewater. Leeke was born July 15, 1950, in Zacatecas, Mexico. He came to the United States and was proud when he became a legal citizen in January 1990 but took trips to Mexico to visit his family.
He was a hard worker. He started to work for Earl Brown and Sons in Milton Freewater 36 years ago and worked there until present. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle and companion of 21 years to Jean Armijo. He was easy-going and patient and spent most of his time playing with his grandkids. He taught them to walk, ride bikes and had a deep special love for them. Most weekends, you would find him out in the yard with the kids or shopping around with one or two of his grandkids following along. He loved working in the yard, fixing everything and working on cars. What he loved most was having family together and enjoying weekend barbecues. He always did the cooking. The thing he cared about most was that all his family was taken care of here and in Mexico. He devoted special love and time to his two youngest granddaughters, Taytem and Payton Mendoza who loved him very much. "We miss you grandpa." We are at peace knowing he loved his family deeply and he knew how deeply he was loved.
He is survived by his companion, Jean Armijo; his son, Angel Gonzalez; stepchildren, Cruz Mendoza, Yvonne Gonzalez, Denise Leslie and Ruben Mendoza; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; three sisters, Elena Gonzalez, Maria delos Angeles Gonzalez, Carmen Gonzalez; five brothers, Manuel Gonzalez Guerrero, Gabriel Gonzalez Guerrero, Juan Gonzalez Guerrero, Dagoberto Gonzalez Guerrero and Javier Gonzalez Guerrero; his mother, Magdalena Guerrero; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; one grandson.
