WALLA WALLA -- Award-winning Mariachi Huenachi band from Wenatchee High School, will perform at 7 p.m. Friday in the Walla Walla High School Auditorium, 800 Abbott Road.

The band, founded by Mark Fogelquist in 1994, has performed throughout Washington state and has appeared at several area schools this week.

In 2011, the group performed at more than 40 events and festivals including Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Mariners and Chivas de Guadalajara games; at the Experience Music Project; and for Gov. Chris Gregoire. In 2009, Mariachi Huenachi shared the stage with the renowned group Los Tigres Del Norte at its annual mariachi competition.
