March 5 through March 9 is Classified Appreciation Week for school employees!
Our great Valley is filled with highly capable and talented classified people who help our young people learn in classrooms daily.
Who are classified staff? In College Place Public Schools they are the educational assistants, secretaries, custodians, food service staff, building/grounds maintenance, bus drivers, playground supervisors, crossing guards, transportation supervisor, speech and language pathologist assistants, life-skills educational assistants, payroll and accounts payable people, administrative assistants and business manager.
As superintendent of College Place Public Schools I want to publicly recognize these dedicated hardworking people who make our schools exceptional every day. In College Place we truly have the very best classified staff who exemplify our district's vision of "focusing on kids and their learning" with their daily interactions with our students.
It is commonplace to see our classified staff focusing on kids by loving our students right where they are at - to see these people assisting the learning of each child by competently and professionally carrying out their duties with purpose and joy.
I encourage the community to acknowledge these people throughout the week as you come in contact with these individuals.
Finally, I want the classified staff members of the College Place School District to know how much they are appreciated. You people are awesome!
