WALLA WALLA -- Restrictions at two locked-down units at Washington State Penitentiary will start easing.
Two of the prison's four close-custody units, Delta and Echo, were placed on lockdown last week when a prisoner assaulted a guard with a food tray.
According to the latest plan on the penitentiary's website, some inmates will be allowed limited movement today. Wednesday, workers with Correctional Industries will be allowed to return to work.
Other restrictions, such as meals and recreation, will be eased in coming days, according to the plan.
The remaining two units, Fox and Golf, are returning to normal activity.
All four units were placed on lockdown the night of Feb. 4 due to a fight between four inmates. Four corrections officers were injured while breaking up the fight.
