Artists press antiques into service for art prints

PENDLETON - The exhibit "Remnant," a collaboration between artists Nell Warren and Greg Misarti, is on view now at Pendleton Center for the Arts, 214 N. Main St.

The installation-based exhibit is comprised of assembled antiques repurposed into painting presses and machines.

The artists collected old laundry presses, mangles and book presses that both create the artwork and are part of the creation.

The resulting collection is reminiscent of a bizarre studio where the artist has stepped out for a moment, and viewers are able to poke into the inner workings of the process.

The exhibit will run through March 31 and admission to the gallery is free. Gallery hours are Tuesday to Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday noon to 4 p.m. More information can be found on the Art Center's website, pendletonarts.org or by calling 541-278-9201.
