St. Patrick's Day benefit offers food, fun

WALLA WALLA — A St. Patrick’s Day celebration at — where else? — right next to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a feast and live entertainment for a good cause.

The fourth annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration will take place March 17 in Blanchet Hall.

Dinner will be served from 4-7:30 p.m. and live entertainment will be from 5-9 p.m.

The menu will feature traditional St. Patrick’s Irish Pasties. John Lesko’s Famous St. Patrick’s Day Chili, coleslaw, cupcakes and green Irish punch round out the meal. Corn dogs and Jell-O are available for kids who want to opt out. Traditional green Irish adult beverages will be available as well.

In a press release, organizers said "performances will include the amazing Kieran Doohan’s traditional Irish dances, as well as a performance by his students. Several local professional musicians, including Audrey Renaud, Denny Sedam, George Kovach and Torch Davis, among others, have donated their time to entertain the crowd.

"The City Clicker Cloggers will dance up a storm, and the Assumption Middle School Choir will blow you away with their talent."

Proceeds from ticket sales will be split equally between Walla Walla Catholic Charities and Walla Walla Catholic Schools. "It all stays in town, helping our kids and our less-fortunate friends. Tastes good and feels good," said Davis.
