Letters To The Editor - Outrage over Obama's face on flag

This will for sure not get printed.

I just read where they found a flag -- an American flag with Obama's face on it in place of the stars -- flying over the Lake County Democratic Headquarters in Tavares, Fla. This is my response:

I am outraged, totally and completely. There are so many things wrong with this that they are almost impossible to count.

Where is the call for treason, imprisonment? How many men and women have served and died for this country and they, the Democrats, have made a mockery of their deaths, their service and our American flag!

This has gone far enough. We need to call for arrests in this case -- it is against the law for them to use the flag like this. Is anyone else in horror over this?

Did not Hitler, Stalin do this? Oh my word, where is the outrage? Oh that's right Obama controls the media.

Look on Facebook that is where I found it! How dare they put his face on our flag, the same flag that thousands died for. The man cares nothing for this country, nothing.

This was from a Facebook article printed by Kimber Chitwood, also on line from Fox News insider, "Veterans call for Democrats to take down flag."

This abomination is brought to us specifically from some ridiculous business called Dave's Flags. Thankfully, there is no "uplifting story of hope" to go along with this disgrace, as the only things listed in the description are the measurements and the link to the site. Of course, the Obama likeness is not only completely disrespectful, it also violates the Flag Code.

Significantly, the Flag Code prohibits using the flag "for any advertising purpose" and also states the flag "should not be embroidered, printed, or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use." Both of these prohibitions are widely flouted, almost always without comment.

Now I know this code is rarely enforced by John Q. Public, but you get the point. Far too many people have fought and died for this country, and the ideals our flag represents. "Decorating" the flag with someone's likeness is inappropriate, no matter whose visage happens to adorn it.

I am probably in the minority here, but this item really grinds my gears.

This is what a dictator does!
