Activities and weekly lunch menus at area senior centers

Activities offered daily at The Center at the Park, 720 Sprague Ave., include pool and cards from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. A complete listing of current center activities, classes and health and welfare programs may be found in the center's monthly newsletter. The annual center membership fee, $12 per person, includes a subscription to it. Spanish is spoken at the Center. Adult day care is provided at the Adult Day Center 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday. For more information call Mike Johnson at 527-0771.

Senior Round Table luncheons are served weekdays 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at The Center. For more information call 527-3775. Bread and milk are served with all meals. A vegetarian option and salad bar are available Monday-Friday. The menu this week is:

Monday: Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, spinach, roll, fruited Jell-O.

Tuesday: Macaroni and cheese, green beans, spinach salad, bread, peaches.

Wednesday: Enchilada casserole, green beans, green salad, bread, peaches.

Thursday: Turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, bread, pumpkin squares.

Friday: Clam chowder with cheese slice, coleslaw, fruit juice, corn bread, pears.

Lunch is served at Waitsburg Presbyterian Church, 504 Main St., Waitsburg on Tuesdays. Home-delivered meals are available. Questions: call 527-3775

Milton-Freewater and Weston seniors can enjoy hot lunches and socialize at the senior centers in Milton-Freewater and Weston. Activities are offered 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays at the Milton-Freewater Senior Citizens Center, 311 N. Main St. Hot lunches are served at noon on Tuesdays and Fridays. Bingo is 1 p.m. every Tuesday and pinochle is 7 p.m. every Friday. The Weston Senior Citizens Center on Main Street is open for social time and a hot lunch is served at noon on Wednesdays.

The suggested donation is $3.50 for meals for those 60 and older or children under 8; and $6 for those 59 and younger. Bread and milk are served with all meals. The menu for Milton-Freewater is:

Tuesday: Enchilada casserole, green beans, coleslaw, apricots, fruit Jell-O with whipped topping.

Friday: Sloppy Joes on a bun, corn, tossed salad with carrots, peaches, cookie.

The menu for Weston is:

Wednesday: Barbecue chicken, rice, Key Largo vegetables, tossed salad, cheese biscuit, banana cream pie.

Seniors of the Blue Mountains and Walla Walla Valley offer a meal at noon Thursdays in the Milton-Freewater Community Building, 109 N.E. Fifth Ave. Hot rolls and milk are served with every meal. The suggested donation is $4. The menu this week is:

Thursday: Meat loaf, creamed potatoes and peas, salad and dessert.
