William D. "Bill" Eisele, Walla Walla, passed away March 16, 2012, at his home at the age of 83 years. At his request there will be no funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Walla Walla Elks Lodge #287 or the Walla Walla Community Hospice through the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater, OR 97862.
Mr. Eisele was born July 11, 1928, in Cheyenne, Wyo., the son of Charlie D. and Elsie E. Whited Eisele. He attended schools in Idaho. After graduation from high school, he joined the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. After his discharge from the Army in 1952, he was a rodeo cowboy in this area for a time. He married Irene George in Las Vegas, Nev., and the couple were together over 55 years. The couple lived in Tucson, Ariz., where he worked at CTI, a cement company. They then moved to Walla Walla in 1965 where he worked for various trucking companies and then finally for Walla Walla Grain Growers for 17 years. After retiring from trucking, he worked for 10 years selling real estate, the last company he had worked for was Lloyd's Real Estate. Mr. Eisele enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends Dave and Ed, and playing cards at the Elks. He was a member of BPOE #287 and the Eagles Lodge in Walla Walla.
He is survived by his wife Irene Eisele at the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Denise Eisele of Walla Walla; two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Gary Kivett of Spokane, Debby Eisele and Patrick Connelly of Summerville, S.C.; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Rita Eisele of Walla Walla; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
