I cannot believe your thoughts regarding red light cameras.
Most intersections have a stop light or a stop sign. The reason being -- safety -- if obeyed.
The reason I see they are needed is because some drivers would not obey the law --and you write as if you condone these people. Your suggestion of just to collect fines is a cop out.
As to the photo shot of these drivers running a red light, believe me a picture is better than a thousand words. No need to mention "presumption" the drivers knew they were wrong. The picture proves them guilty!
What or how would you rewrite this had you been a victim of a broadside from one of these drivers?
I despise taking you to task, but you needed this.
