Asotin beats up on Waitsburg-Prescott in baseball twin bill

PRESCOTT - Asotin had too much pitching for Waitsburg-Prescott here Saturday in the Southeast 2B baseball openers for W-P.

The Panthers' Jackson Webb tossed a five-hitter as Asotin won the first game 9-3, and Seth Morton came back with a five-inning one hitter as the Panthers completed the sweep with an 18-3, game-two win.

"It wasn't our best baseball," W-P coach Dustin Snedigar said. "We didn't take care of the baseball like we needed to."

W-P committed seven errors on the day.

David Herzog led the W-P attack in the opener with three hits. Tucker Allenman and Chris Manzano collected the other W-P hits.

An eight-run third and an eight-run fifth doomed W-P in the nightcap as Herzog collected the only W-P hit off Morton.

"(We had) too many walks and errors," Snedigar said of the second game. "They took advantage because when we had to come in, they were sitting on it."

W-P travels to Burbank Tuesday for a non-league battle with the Coyotes.

"We are young," Snedigar added. "We will get a lot better."
