PASCO - The Dayton Bulldogs baseball team took a bite of the Tri-City Prep Jaguars, winning game one 5-2 and the nightcap 15-5 in only five innings, in Southeast 2B action here Saturday.

The game was scheduled to be in Dayton but was moved to Pasco due to field conditions. The Bulldogs were designated the home team.

"Getting outdoors was fun enough to boot," Dayton coach Sal Benavides said. "I was pleasantly surprised about our play. We've been indoors for the last four weeks of practice."

Joey Yenney's two-RBI single in the bottom of the sixth highlighted the first game for the Bulldogs. Benavides said the team needed the breathing room because they were ahead only 3-2 in that inning.

Dayton's Lowden Smith struck out nine and gave up only two hits in the first game.

Eight hits in the bottom of the fourth inning - three doubles and five singles - with three walks led to 10 runs for the Bulldogs in the two-out rally.

"We had two outs," Benavides said, "when the rally started and we started hitting. We never looked back from there. Before that, we were starving for runs and who have thought we could put that many runs together."

The Jaguars held a 5-2 lead in the fourth before the explosion of runs for the Bulldogs.

Dayton starter Hayden Fullerton struck out ten in five innnings.

Bulldog slugger Garett Turner had four hits in the double header.
