RICHLAND - Touchet sophomore Makayla Bishop threw four innings in her first varsity start and led the Indians with four RBIs as Touchet rolled to an 11-3 victory over Liberty Christian in Southeast 1B-2B interleague softball play Tuesday.
A pair of errors allowed a Patriot run to cross home in the first inning, but a six-run Touchet third blew the game open.
"Our girls, up and down the lineup, hit really well," Touchet coach Gary Dorman said. "They did just a great job offensively, and we'll work on the defense a little bit more."
Dorman said Bishop wasn't overpowering, but she was efficient and pitched to contact.
"She (Bishop) ended up with four strikeouts and one base-on-balls, which is really important," Dorman said. "She did a good job."
Nicole Brown, the Indians' other starter, relieved Bishop in the fifth and - aside from a pair of runs in the fifth - closed out the game.
The Indians (3-1) teed off on Patriots pitcher Kirsten Peterson, who pitched a complete game. Touchet racked up 14 base hits on the day, with Kristen Warner knocking a triple and a double. Alex Sasser had a double, and Josie Sewell a triple.
"They put the ball in play and, once they got over the first-inning jitters, they did really well defensively," Dorman said.
Touchet hosts Garfield-Palouse in a Southeast 1B twin bill at 1 p.m. Friday.
