Oct. 27, 1924 - March 26, 2012
Our most treasured mother and grandmother, Josefina "Fina" DeLeon Torres is now part of God's chorus in Heaven having departed this earth March 26, 2012. During her last moments on earth, Josefina was surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Josefina was born Oct. 27, 1924, in Piedras Negras, Mexico to Vincent and Elena Gavin DeLeon. On Nov, 22, 1942, she married Tomas Torres in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Josefina was most happy with her family by her side and her forever loyal dog, Opie. Everyone loved her most delicious tortillas and tamales. She was her son Richie's best friend. All the grandchildren and great-grandchildren truly adored and loved her. She was the strength and pillar of the family. Josefina leaves her family a most humbleness of faith and kindness. She will truly be missed and live forever in our hearts.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Maria Pedro Sanchez of Walla Walla, and Josefina and Ismael Marquez of Milton Freewater; four sons and daughters-in-law, John Bonnie Torres of Walla Walla, Ricardo Kimm Torres of Walla Walla, Oscar and Carol Torres of Caldwell, Idaho, and Jesse and Maria Torres of Phoenix, Ariz.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers; and four sons, Danny, Hector, Rudy and Gustavo Torres.
