Spring white blossoms dripping from the historic weeping cherry tree above her, Whitman College sophomore Rania Mussa rushes her way to class Wednesday morning after rain clouds broke to reveal a bright blue sky. The Japanese Weeping Cherry, a Washington state record holding tree for size and probably for age, sits along College Creek just off Marcus Street.
