SPOKANE - Joe Arlt and Jake Campeau powered the Walla Walla Community College baseball team on the mound Wednesday in 3-1 and 7-1 victories over Spokane.
"Joe and Jake were both dominant," Warrior coach Dave Meliah said. "They commanded the strike zone and our defense played well behind them."
Arlt went nine innings, striking out five Sasquatch. He gave up two hits in Spokane's one-run first inning, but just two more the rest of the way.
Campeau went seven innings in the nightcap, striking out three and giving up two hits.
Connor Lawhead relieved Campeau to close out the game.
Neal Schuck had a lead-off double in the opener and scored on an error to give the Warriors the early lead.
Spokane answered, but Kasey Knigge had a lead-off walk in the fifth and scored on a wild pitch to give WWCC the lead. Tony Salas recorded an RBI single in the eighth to end scoring.
In the nightcap, Knigge had an RBI single in the fourth as WWCC took a 1-0 lead.
Jarrod Turner had a two-RBI double in the fifth to help the Warriors to a 4-0 lead, and Salas' RBI single added to it in the sixth.
Spokane got on the scoreboard in the seventh.
Knigge ended scoring with a two-RBI single in the top of the ninth inning.
Walla Walla, now 13-5 overall and 2-0 in NWAACC East Region play, host Big Bend at 1 p.m. Saturday for a league twin bill.
