Whitman College's music department's early spring lineup of musical recitals on campus starts Friday. Here's a look at offerings:
The Fridays at Four recital series will present "The Songs of 1970," with Pete Crawford, Kit Crawford and Doug Scarborough at 4 p.m. in the Hunter Conservatory, 324 Boyer Ave.
On April 6, there are three musical events to choose from. The Fridays at Four recital series presents The Whitman Brass Choir, directed by William Berry at 4 p.m. in Hunter Conservatory.
A jazz workshop with guitar duo Jay Roberts and Don Mock, is 5:30 p.m. in the Music Building rehearsal hall, room 127.
At 7:30 p.m. a recital of nationalistic music by Monica Griffin Hunter, voice and Melissa Loehnig, piano, is 7:30 p.m. in Chism Recital Hall of the Music Building, 137 S. Park St. Works by Villa-Lobos, Rachmaninoff, Montsalvatge, Dvorzak, H.T. Burleigh will be showcased.
April 7 brings a flute recital at 3 p.m. by Kristi Von Handorf, assisted by Jeremy Mims on piano, in Chism Recital Hall. A voice recital with Diana Wu, assisted by Phoebe Horvath, piano, is 7:30 p.m. in Chism Recital Hall. Wu will sing works by Handel, Mozart, Schubert, Verdi, Donaudi and Duke.
