Cinco de Mayo celebration set for Saturday at Wa-Hi


WALLA WALLA -- The community is invited to a Cinco de Mayo celebration to be held Saturday at Walla Walla High School.

The event will run 4:30 to 10 p.m. in the school's Commons, and features dinner from El Sombrero for the first 500 people, music by Mariachi Huenachi and performances by local groups and school programs, including Luz y Sonido Elegante.

A career and activity fair will be included in the festival, which is coordinated by the Walla Walla High School Latino club, AVID program and Washington State University GEAR Up program. Information on community partners, colleges, universities and school clubs will be included as part of the career fair.

An activity fair with activities and information geared for families with children will run until about 7:30 p.m.
