WALLA WALLA -- Seniors Christopher Neal and Emily Schueller have been named this year's Exchange Club of Walla Walla Youth of the Year award winners.
The students each earned a $1,000 college scholarship as part of the award, and enter into a districtwide competition among students from throughout the Northwest.
Neal is a student in the Alternative Education Program at Walla Walla Community College. He will graduate from the program this June, having earned both his high school diploma and an associate of arts degree with honors. He plans to transfer to Eastern Washington University this fall to earn a degree in criminal justice. His parents are Michael and Terri Neal.
Schueller is a senior at Walla Walla High School and the daughter of Laura and Albert Schueller. She maintains a perfect 4.0 grade-point average, is a National Merit recipient, and an Advanced Placement Scholar.
She participates in music and drama programs at Walla Walla High School and has been playing the violin since she was 7. Schueller plans to attend the University of Southern California to study environmental engineering.
