WALLA WALLA -- The parking lot for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mill Creek Office may be closed intermittently today and Thursday for installation of a new pedestrian bridge.
The closures will occur between 5 a.m. and 6 p.m. to allow a large crane to install the pre-fabricated bridge across Yellowhawk Creek near the new office building site.
The south levee, the unpaved side of Mill Creek, will remain open to visitors during this time. Visitors are encouraged to use the parking area at Rooks Park and take the paved trails to the north side of Mill Creek. A footbridge across the creek allows access to the south levee trails, the existing office and Bennington Lake.
Visitors who need to meet with Mill Creek Office staff during this time should call the office at 527-7160 to arrange a meeting outside the bridge-installation work area.
