Touchet gets SE1B baseball wins over Pomeroy

TOUCHET - Nicole Brown pitched a one-hit shutout in the opening game of Tuesday's softball doubleheader with Pomeroy, and picked up another win after taking over with a 9-9 deadlock in the fifth inning of the nightcap as Touchet picked up a pair of Southeast 1B victories over rival Pomeroy, 10-0 and 14-10.

"In the first game, Nicole Brown came out and was very efficient," Touchet coach Gary Dorman said. "She only walked two girls and gave up one base hit. She was just very efficient and did a nice job and we played nice defense behind her."

The second game was a different story, as Touchet started off with a five-run rally to open the game, but after three innings the Pirates and Indians were tied at eight. The teams traded runs in the fourth, but Pomeroy pulled away with four runs in the fifth.

The Indians (11-5, 6-4) host a doubleheader with Garfield-Palouse today at 3 p.m. in Touchet's final regular season games of the regular season.
