Beginning this spring, all school groups will be able to visit the Tamstslikt Cultural Institute for free, said Bobbie Conner, director, in a Walla Walla Public Schools Week in Review item.

The free admission also applies to home-schoolers, youth groups, after-school programs and scouts. However, students who go singly must pay the individual student admission. Groups are considered 10 persons minimum.

School groups can make reservations with the Tamstslikt education coordinator by calling 541-429-7723 or emailing tci.education@tamastslikt.org.

Focused on the theme, "Welcome to the Real World," the Walla Walla Public Schools Senior Party will follow Walla Walla High School graduation from 9:30 p.m.-2 a.m. June 1 at the YMCA.

All seniors are welcome to attend, reported the Walla Walla Public Schools Week in Review. Families are encouraged to donate $35 for their student's party. Checks are payable to "Senior Party" and can be mailed or dropped off at Wa-Hi, 800 Abbott Road, or Lincoln High School, 421 S. Fourth Ave.

Tickets will be available in the Wa-Hi and Lincoln school offices the week of graduation.

Contact Judy Peasley if you are interested in helping with the party for more details at gjpeas@charter.net.

The competition was stiff, with more than 33 acts auditioning for this year's Pioneer's Got Talent contest.

From that the field was narrowed to eight acts by a parent, staff member and a student from each grade at Pioneer Middle School, who served as judges.

The students performed in front of the school, then students voted online, according to a release from Walla Walla Public Schools Week in Review. Rankings were based on 50 percent from the judges and 50 percent from the student vote.

Winners were Sophia Gregoire, Rachel Adams and Emily Coleman, who sang Adele's "Rumor Has It."

Second-place awards went to Natalie Funk; and Ryan and Reagan Jackson.

Annie Charnley Eveland will be back in the office on May 22. Items for the Etcetera column may be submitted to annieeveland@wwub.com or, if too timely, to Alasdair Stewart at alasdairstewart@wwub.com. Call Stewart at 526-8311 for more information.
