RICHLAND - The Dayton Bulldogs took a bite out of Liberty Christian Patriots here Saturday, winning 13-1 and 13-4, in Southeast 2B softball action.
The Bulldogs were led by Shelby Smith who had six hits and seven RBI in the two games combined.
"The whole team's bats finally came alive," Dayton coach Desirae Jones said. "We got the hits when needed. We had two strong games going into postseason."
Sam Harting pitched both games for Dayton and added five hits from the plate.
Dayton (8-4 SE2B) finished the regular season tied with Waitsburg-Prescott, but W-P owns the head-to-head tiebreaker.
The Bulldogs will take the No. 3 seed and host a first-round playoff game Tuesday at 4 p.m. against Liberty Christian.
