Mac-Hi's Robert reaches perfection

That was the story in the nightcap of Mac-Hi's doubleheader with Ontario, as Colette Robert pitched a perfect game en route to a 10-0 rout of the Tigers in Greater Oregon League softball.

Her performance backed up a one-run effort from Kaitlin Erm in the opener - a 18-1 mercy-ruler in Mac-Hi's favor.

"Robert faced 15 batters and struck out nine," Mac-Hi coach Nicole Christian said. "There was good defense behind her for the seven that did put the bat on the ball."

During the first game Kaitlin Erm gave up five hits and had six strikeouts.

"We had a couple of singles followed by doubles to get a lot of RBI," Christian said. "We really played great."

The Pioneers are 10-2 in the GOL (13-9 overall) and co-champs with Baker.

Mac-Hi faces a seeding game against Baker Monday at 5 p.m. at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande.
