Seminar on VA benefits for veterans, spouses set


WALLA WALLA - Senior veterans and surviving spouses can lean more about benefit options at Park Plaza retirement community on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

The Aid and Attendance benefits program was designed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to assist senior veterans and surviving spouses.

But the benefits remain one of the VA's most under used, Park Plaza officials said in a press release. Families can receive up to $2,019 per month in tax-free benefits.

The seminar is free and will be at the retirement center at 1400 Dalles Military Road.

Presenters will offer details about the history of Aid and Attendance, outline the requirements to qualify educate applicants about needed documentation.
