Wa-Hi softball team well represented on all-league team

WALLA WALLA - Wa-Hi, the reigning state softball champion, 2012 Columbia Basin Big Nine regular season co-champion and district champion, earned no fewer than 14 honors on the 2012 CBBN all-conference team released Monday.

Alyson Ambler earned league MVP and honors on the first team as a pitcher.

Wa-Hi coach Jerry Humphreys and his staff earned coaching staff of the year honors.

Second baseman Jordana Storm, a freshman, earned co-outstanding offensive player of the year, as well as first-team honors.

Wa-Hi's Libbie Jimenez took home outstanding defensive player of the year as well as first-team honors at shortstop.

Jordan Heiser was also named to the CBBN first team as a pitcher.

Ellie Rassbach, at first, and TraeAnn Payne, in the outfield, earned second-team honors.

Andrea Hamada, at third, Kendsey Hill, at catcher, Mattie Smyth and Janelle Hartford, both in the outfield, all received honorable mention.
