ArtWalla seeks input into choosing historic artwork

WALLA WALLA - ArtWalla invites the Valley community to be a part of the public art selection process and share their input at two Unveiling and Meet the Artists events for the three sesquicentennial semifinalists.

The first unveiling is Friday at Seven Hills Winery, 212 N. Third Ave. from 5-7 pm. This is the first opportunity to see the three proposals for the city's sesquicentennial public art installation.

The three artists - Wayne Chabre, Brad Rude and Squire Broel - will be present to explain their visions and answer any questions.

On Saturday, the three proposals will move to the Walla Walla Public Library, 238 E. Alder St., for a public reception from 1-3 pm. Refreshments will be served at both unveiling events.

Public of all ages are invited to cast a vote for their favorite proposal.

The totals will be factored in as a percentage of the overall score and will help determine which proposal is selected as the official sesquicentennial installation. The winning proposal will be announced June 4.
