WALLA WALLA -- Walla Walla County residents will have a final opportunity to dispose of old tires for free Saturday.
The last tire collection event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the gravel lot on Tausick Way across from the Mill Creek Sports Complex. The event is being sponsored by the Walla Walla Joint Community Development Agency with funding from the Department of Ecology.
Participants will be asked to provide proof of residency by showing a valid driver's license or utility bill statement with an address in the county. Residents will be able to dispose of up to 10 regular-sized car, light truck, or motorcycle tires per household at each event.
No tractor, large truck, tires over 36 inches or tires on wheels will be accepted. No tires will be accepted from businesses or other non-residential sources.
