PENDLETON - The Weston-McEwen TigerScots baseball team finished off the regular season with the first district title for the program in 15 years.
Not to mention a number one ranking in state for class 2A/1A baseball.
The TigerScots will host a first-round state playoff game next Wednesday in Athena.
The key to winning is usually good pitching and W-M got that Saturday again versus, Stanfield beating them 6-2, at Bob White Field.
"Dallas Reich and Elliot Salter have been working together for four years now and they've really got the whole battery thing down now," W-M coach TJ Haguewood said.
Reich struck out eight and gave only the three hits while walking just two.
The Tigerscots also smacked ten hits and scored enough runs to win. W-M's Calvin Thacker, Elliot Salter and Nick Lively each contributed two hits in the victory.
"The boys have now won a district championship this year in football, baseball and basketball," Haguewood said. "I'm proud of them, the community has supported them and they have all been a joy to coach throughout this year."
The challenger for W-M in the first round of state is yet to be determined.
