Suspect sought after pursuit

BURBANK -- The Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office is on the lookout for a Montana man officials say eluded deputies on foot Wednesday night after a high-speed chase.

According to an incident report, a deputy attempted to initiate a routine traffic stop at 9:29 p.m. after the driver of a dark blue Cadillac failed to signal a left turn at the intersection of Harrison and Quincy roads in Burbank.

The driver of the car, later identified at Jacob Staley, 28, fled north on Quincy Road, then onto Jantz Road, driving in excess of 80 mph, according to the report.

Staley reportedly drove a circuitous route, ending at 315 N. Main St., where he fled on foot.

When backup arrived, officers secured the vehicle and began a search for Staley, described as 5 foot 8 with a medium build and a shaved head. There are multiple warrants for Staley's arrest, officials said.
