Touchet falls in quarterfinals of 1B playoffs


YAKIMA - Almira-Coulee-Hartline pitcher Madeline Isaak took over the final two innings of the Warriors' semifinal game with Touchet Friday afternoon in the WIAA Class 1B softball playoffs.

The senior pitcher, who struck out six Indian batters in the game, struck out three in the final innings, made a diving catch on a weakly hit ball to get the first out in the seventh, and drove in the game-winning run with an RBI single in the fifth as the Warriors posted a 5-4 victory over Touchet.

Touchet, now 16-6, drops into the consolation bracket with the loss, where it faces Klickitat Saturday at 2 p.m.
