Bill and Thais Baer of Walla Walla will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a gathering of family and friends from 2-4 p.m. June 3 at Pioneer Park Garden Center, off Alder and Division streets. At the couple's request, guests are asked not to bring gifts.
Bill and Thais married on June 3, 1962, in Angwin, Calif., and moved to Walla Walla in December 1969.
Bill worked on the Walla Walla College Farm for 22 years. After his tenure there, he joined the maintenance team at Coffey Communications and still enjoys occasional trips to the office. He has been involved with Pathfinders for more than 40 years.
Thais enjoyed country living and raising their two children, Aileen and Emil. She continues her more than 35 years employment with Coffey Communications, as well as being a published book author, voracious reader and quilter.
Through the years, both have enjoyed backpacking, hiking, camping, gardening, bird watching, interacting with their children and grandchildren and church activities.
