WALLA WALLA -- The royal court for the 2013 Fair & Frontier Days has been chosen, fair officials announced today.
Kendra Torrey, Rebekah Adams and Kindall Cooper were selected from among six candidates who were judged by fair officials on their riding ability, speech and poise. The trio will represent the Walla Walla Valley during the 147lh Fair & Frontier Days over 2012 Labor Day weekend.
In a news release, Cory Hewitt, fairgrounds general manager, said the three have joined their court advisors, Cindy Granger and Patti Litchfield, to select outfits for their first parade appearance, which will be Nov. 11 in the downtown Walla Walla Veterans Day parade. The coronation of the queen and her court will take place Feb. 28 at the annual showcase event at the county fairgrounds.
Torrey, 17, is the daughter of Gary and Shelly Torrey of Walla Walla. She plans to attend Walla Walla Community College and major in dental hygiene. Adams, 16, is the daughter of Ann and Lanny Adams of Waitsburg. She attends Waitsburg High School.
Cooper, 18, is the daughter of Laura Cooper of Pomeroy. She attends Walla Walla Community College, where she is majoring in agriculture education.
