Ski Bluewood has announced it will operate on a Friday through Sunday weekly schedule during the upcoming season. In previous years, Bluewood has operated Wednesdays through Sundays on normal weeks. The ski area is 20 miles south of Dayton.
“This is a contraction that is a necessary step to protect the livelihood of the ski area in the near term so that we can work towards building an even brighter future for the ski area for the long term,” Ski Bluewood general manager Travis Stephenson said in an email to skiers. The email noted the change is due to low mid-week skier numbers in recent years.
Stephenson emphasized Ski Bluewood will be open on “holiday Mondays” as well as every day except Christmas from Dec. 21 through Jan. 1. The ski area has set a tentative opening date of Nov. 23, depending on snow conditions.
The email also said Bluewood will offer refunds to current season pass holders who would like them, due to the revised schedule. Refunds will be available through Nov. 25.
