St. Paul's Episcopal Church slates its Seventh Annual Scholarship Auction Sunday

WALLA WALLA -- The Seventh Annual Scholarship Auction will take place at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 323 Catherine St., on Sunday.

The auction will be from 4:30-7 p.m. The cost is $10 for adults. The event is free for people ages 18 and younger.

There will be good food, wine and cider, as well as a silent auction for a wide variety of items.

Proceeds will go to help St. Paul's Episcopal Church's students with the cost of college.

This year's bid items include a wide selection of wines, airplane rides, two days at a hotel in Cannon Beach, a stay at the Empress Hotel via a round-trip from Seattle and back on the Victoria Clipper; baked goods, holiday baskets, retro and mid-20th century collectibles and furniture; handmade items, lessons, art objects and much more.

Since 2007, proceeds from this event have funded 32 scholarships for 15 high school seniors from St. Paul's who are pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited college, vocational institute, or university.

Each student receives a $500 scholarship annually, for up to 5 years, as long as he or she maintains a 2.25 or better grade point average.
