The local Weight Watchers organization has made a jump to a new location.
The organization that helps clients shed unwanted pounds through healthy choices has moved its meetings from the Elks Lodge to a new spot at Birch Place.
Meetings at the new location, 11 E. Birch St., take place Thursdays at 5:15 p.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m. Confidential weigh-ins begin a half-hour before the meetings.
The meetings run about a half-hour long, said territory Manager Lynda Swarts in an announcement on the move. Members are encouraged to attend at least one meeting a week to learn about healthy eating, maintain motivation and track progress through the confidential weigh-in. Nonmembers can attend their first meeting free with no obligation to join, in order to learn about the program. Program materials are not included in that offer.
Weight Watchers’ biggest innovation, Swarts said, is “PointsPlus 2012,” a mechanism to create a program beyond traditional calorie counting. To learn more about the program and services, visit weightwatchers.com. Visitors can also click on “Find a Meeting” to learn more about the local program.
