Scholarship auction set for Sunday at St. Paul's

WALLA WALLA — St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will hold a benefit to support its scholarship fund.

The event includes food, wine, cider and a silent auction.

Auction items include a wide selection of wine, a ride in an airplane, two days at a beautiful Cannon Beach hotel, a stay at the Empress Hotel via a round trip from Seattle and back on the Victoria Clipper, baked goods, holiday baskets, retro and mid-20th century collectibles and furniture, handmade articles, lessons and art objects, according to a news release.

The auction will be Sunday from 4:30-7 p.m. at the church, 323 Catherine St. The cost is $10 for adults; kids under 18 years old get in free.

Since 2007, proceeds from the event have funded 32 scholarships for 15 St. Paul’s high school seniors who are pursuing postsecondary education at an accredited college, vocational institute, or university. St. Paul’s students receives $500 scholarships annually for up to five years, as long as they maintain a 2.25 grade-point average.
