Photo exhibit to benefit conservation efforts

WALLA WALLA — The Blue Mountain Land Trust will host a benefit exhibit of photographs by Ellen Morris Bishop at 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday at Jacobi’s Cafe, 416 N. Second Ave.

Proceeds from the sale of her work will benefit local conservation projects.

Bishop is a visiting professor of geology at Whitman College. Along with her work there, she shoots images for conservation organizations, including the Nature Conservancy, Wallowa Land Trust, Blue Mountain Land Trust, Deschutes River Conservancy and others.

Her images are often used in interpretive displays, including those at Newberry Volcano National Monument, The High Desert Museum, Warm Springs Museum, and Condon Museum of Natural History. They also illustrate her books as well as the books of others.
